If you are unable to watch (or complete) the livestream on Friday, April 23, you will be have access to the entire livestream through this account through May 31.
- Reduce the amount of traffic to the internet to free up as much bandwidth as possible for the livestream. If other computers/tablets/phones/users are using your wifi connection, it could result in video buffering.
- Disable screen savers and turn off the hibernation mode so that the livestream feed is not interrupted.
- Turn off unnecessary programs on your computer. These use up storage and can reduce the quality of your livestream feed.
- Your download speed should be consistent and at a speed of 2.2 MBps or greater. Contact your service provider if you need to increase your internet speed. Note: This should be done well in advance of the livestream, as this may take several weeks to resolve.
It is important that you test your complete technical setup prior to Secret Church. Testing will help you feel more prepared and will lessen the chance that you will experience technical difficulties on the evening of the simulcast when you have a room full of people waiting on Secret Church to start.
Testing your complete technical setup means you will test from the location you plan to stream Secret Church, with the exact internet connection, computer, TV, video screens, cables, etc., that you plan to use on the night of Secret Church. If you plan to connect your computer to your television, you may need some additional equipment (for example, an HDMI adapter cable) to enable you to view the livestream on a larger screen. Be sure to have this additional equipment on hand prior to participating in the pre-livestream testing.
Radical will host testing times to enable you to test your technical setup before the livestream on Friday, April 23. It is strongly recommended that you log into your Secret Church account for 45-60 minutes to ensure your setup will work during the event.
“Pre-roll” will begin at 5:30pm EDT / 4:30pm CDT, and the Secret Church livestream will begin at 7:00pm EDT / 6:00pm CDT. Time delay is available if another time works better for your group. The livestream player will be in a format similar to a YouTube or Vimeo video. You can drag the time marker at the bottom of the video screen back to “rewind” to the beginning and start the livestream at whatever time works best for your group. The broadcast can be paused as well if needed.
For the best experience, we recommend a sustained available download speed of 3.5 MBps or greater (wired DSL, Broadband connections), with a minimum of 2.2 MBps. Using a wireless internet connection (wifi) is not recommended and may not be supported.
Firefox, Safari, and Chrome are recommended browsers for the livestream. You can download any of these browsers for free. Internet Explorer is not recommended.
