“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations . . .” (Matthew 28:19). Jesus’s charge to his disciples before he ascended into heaven was both clear and monumental. And yet, 2,000 years later, almost half of the world’s population remains unreached with the gospel, meaning that they have not simply rejected the gospel, but that they currently have little to no chance of even hearing the gospel.
While Christians are giving to missions and churches are sending missionaries, the vast majority of these efforts are being funneled to reached peoples and places. This has helped create what is known as The Great Imbalance.
At Secret Church 21, we will be diving into God’s Word to see what it says about the world’s most urgent needs and about our responsibility—as stewards of the gospel—to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the unreached. One significant aspect of our responsibility is to pray.
This year we are praying for a shift in The Great Imbalance—that the gospel would cross significant barriers to reach the unreached and that God’s glory would be made “known on earth, [his] saving power among all nations” (Psalm 67:2).
Join us in praying for the unreached at Secret Church 21, and for 30 days following the event. We will provide you with a 30-Day Prayer Guide, and you can follow along with us on social media.
